A movie I put together showing Unreal Tournament, then and now. If you've never played any of the previous PC Unreal Tournament games before 3, then watch and enjoy. And if you have, hopefully it'll be a quick but enjoyable trip down memory lane! This is not a 'skillz' video, seeing as I'm a mediocre player at best. Just a fun romp through the world of UT stretching from 1999 to 2007! Gameplay taken from the various Unreal Tournament games. Don't comment saying 'lol, u mised teh unreal championships' because you'll note the name there, unreal championship rather than tournament. Different series my friend although made by the same people, you know, like distant brothers or cousins... (Plus Console games are a downright bitch to try and record properly.) You know, re-installing the original UT, I'm surprised by just how much fun it still is. Ugly as sin, but still fun! The matches are all against bots except for the UT3 matches, which I mostly recorded online. If you've seen me play online and thought I was doing terrible, now you know why. FRAPS really slows down UT3. Luckily I was still able to get the occasional burst of skill in there to not make myself look too terrible. I was getting slaughtered in that one match till I got a lucky break. (You can tell which by looking in the upper right corner, where right before I start a killing spree I'm at a glorious -1 points and in last place. Weee!) This is a gameplay video I made, showing my favorite stage in Unreal Tournament 2004. (Anyone who knows me probably knows why. :P) The attackers get to use tanks, and the defenders get to use automated plasma cannons, as well as a massive ion cannon. I'm uploading this video because I was unable to find any decent gameplay clips of this stage, and I wanted to show a part of this game to some of my friends (must spread the addiction!) It all started With a demo that came on my first computer back in 2000, The demo was Unreal Tournament 1999, I played that game for years.. Sadly It was only the demo. But once UT 2003 came out I bought it.. Then I got Unreal Anothology In 2007, Which Inluded UT 1999 * Game of the year edition, UT 2004 * editors Choice Edition, UT 2 And Return to Na pali. Then I finally downloaded the demo of Unreal Tournament 3 In 2009 and 5 minutes after playing the demo, I bought the full copy of UT3. To this day I still play 1999 and the rest In the entire series, UT3 Is my favorite, But The older ones will live on and will always be on my hard drive. I dont think any game could replace UT3 even the newer ones. As on a small request I put on some footage from the rather fresh UT3 BETA/DEMO which can be found on any major site for gaming demos and files. Videos are exported into .WMV, which has a FPS -cap of 25FPS. I'm playing against bots, I want to get that out right away. Not becuase I don't have the balls to go online or whatever, the networking just sucks major ass in the BETA - that's where the conflict is. We'll try to hook up a few computers and play lan this, or next, weekend, so I'll probably give you some human-to-human footage then. The game looks nowhere close to the quality of the previous footage shown, but as expected as the stuff we saw earlier obviously wasn't realtime. But the game looks absolutley solid, especially the textures on your hands and wrists, super-sharp textures right there, but weapons can lack the texture quality and general finishedness, but as said, still looks solid. The most interesting addition to the game is the Impact Hammer, it just has such a fantastic feel to it when you pump it up and just get close and splash those bastards right up theirs. Music could have been better, right now the music is just there but you'd probably not even think of it that much - needs some work there along with the weapon models and quality of those. I was running highest settings (16xAF, all that stuff) but without the Anti-Aliasing, while recording I hit a average 37FPS which isn't too much of a decrease over the original 42FPS - performance is still kind <b>...</b>
